Room In Heaven
I want to know is there
room for me in heaven?
I have been a sinner as far
back as I could remember.
Telling lies and cheating
people since the age of eleven.
Is there any room for me in heaven?
I walked in the tears that
I spared for so many years
on a ground stained with morally
reprehensible memories of the past.
Neighborhoods quickened by urban
decay as the earth soaked up
the blood shed from all
the lost souls who were slain.
How long can this reality last?
Again I ask, is there room
for me in heaven?
How can I live in joy when I see
the pain on my brothers and sisters faces?
As decease, famine, hatred for
one another and being hated on by others who
Kill us off here in our home
land and far away places.
So tell me, is there room for me in heaven?
I have repented for all
the wrong that I have done.
As God said there “is room for you
in my kingdom my beloved son.
But first
I want you to raise your
voice for all to hear.
Wake up a dead society whose
hearts have grown cold over the years.
Lift up your voice and be an
inspiration to this troubled nation
Let my people know it would be
fatal for them to tarry in a state of contentment.”
Young people need to be
relentless in their education
While the older generation need
to revive there education by
learning something new.
So Rise to the occasion.
Rise and stand against the wall of opposition.
Dare to learn something new.
I urge you to recognize
it’s time for change
Don’t let all those who
came before you die in vain.
Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream.
He has seen the elevations of
the mountain top I believe this to be true.
And the spirit of his dream lives on,
in me and in every one of you.
So what are you going to do?
Black, white, green, yellow, and blue.
Because our father in
Heaven has room for you too.

We come across talent all the time but every now and then we come across a diamond in an a ruff so to speak. It is a pleasure to speak of such a wonderful talented person Shanelle Gabriel.
Shanelle Gabriel is a spoken word and singing virtuoso. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she has displayed her skills at colleges and venues across the country. She both opened and featured on 2007’s sixth season of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam as well as recorded a nationally televised promo for the 2007 NFL Draft. She also was a member of the 2006 Nuyorican Poets Cafe National Slam Team and a competitor in the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam Competition in Vancouver, Canada. Greatly influenced by Lauryn Hill, Richard Smallwood, and Stevie Wonder for their emphasis on lyrics and creativity, her tenacity has allowed her to become a shining star in whatever path she has endeavored to take.
Shanelle got her early start showcasing her talents in church where she is still very active. Later, she acted in productions of The Vagina Monologues and Macbeth. At the Utica College Auditorium she performed as both a singer and actress while earning her B.A. in Communication Arts. She was a Def Jam College promoter and a leading radio personality on WPNR 90.7 FM.
In the summer of 2004, Shanelle was diagnosed with SLE Lupus. Yet she decided that her health would not be something that would limit her success. Using that as her fuel, she decided that she would pursue her dream of being a performing artist as well as encourage others who have obstacles in their path to do the same. She states, "My battle with Lupus has been tedious, but God has a plan. That plan does not include giving up on life. I want to be a testimony to others that no matter what, faith and determination can accomplish any goal."
Shanelle presently facilitates creative writing workshops throughout New York City and promotes Lupus awareness. Her amazing debut album, "Start Something" fuses Shanelle’s skill at spoken word poetry with her soulful, sultry singing. Using her upbeat pop, old school hip-hop, and inspirational soul sound, Shanelle’s vibrant personality shines through each word and melody she shares. "Every time I perform, I aim to plant a seed in someone, a new perspective. This is more than just standing on a stage simply reading my work or singing a tune. This is me sharing me."
Shanelle Gabriel is available for performances, workshops, and other engagements. For information on booking, please email; shanellegabriel@gmail.com

Silently I Walk
Silently I walk in the virtue of
.
justice and in the shadows of my
forefathers. Bent is the judicial system
and beyond the bars of pain. I
can see the spirit of the innocent cry
out for justice to deafening ears
of the prejudice.
But their cries remain in vain.
Silently I walk.
I see the innocent put in the system
where the devil lurks and prey on
the weak. It’s the same system
where the spirit of perversion runs
free in a spiritual battle that no
man can see. Dammed are the
innocent and the weak.
Silently I walk.
I see their tears in the middle of
the night as they all were wishing it
was a dream.
Only to be ravaged
again and again and reminded that
this perversion of intrusion is far
from a dream but sometimes a fatal
grim reality of them dieing in the tears
of their spirit hoping God would
hear it.
Silently I walk.
Help me they silently scream,
torn and separated from mind, body and
spirit instantly.
Can you hear the screams?
They cry with fear, anger
and despair on the walls of injustice deafening ears.
They were the ones who were truly innocent as
they were incarcerated on the whims
of ego’s only interested with another
notch or win as they smile, shake
hands of a job well done while the
innocent life’s hang in the balance
the devil grins.
Silently I walk.
Be thou separated from the body
and let your spirit run free. Ask God
for forgiveness of every wrong deed.
Birth in me a new seed of
righteousness and let my mind be renewed,
Let me develop character of Christ
like virtues, The love of God, The
witness of the Holy Ghost,
Let my revelation be me standing strong
with breastplate righteousness,
the helmet of salvation as I walk with
Christ and in me he has created
a new creation.
Amen.
I Am You
He is a spirit that’s guided by the
light followed by angels in flight.
Born in a world of many to learn and
where disobedience can mean burn.
Who am I?
Bound by cosmic force and
where love ends in divorce.
A mediator within society that
fills gaps other wise void.
Who am I?
I am a challenged child where the
new clashes with the old.
In a society where the young must
not be timid but, bold.
Who am I?
I am a thought within the mind.
I am hated and discriminated against.
I’m the boy with his back up
against the racial fence.
Who am I?
I am lost within a river of tears and
consumed by anger
for so many years.
I have been physically,
mentally battered and abused.
Left with the ultimate
feeling of being used.
Who am I?
I am a statement that is true.
This is my story.
I am you!

Liquid Love
My sweet, we share something special together from above.
Something miraculously happens when we touch.
I see the fire in your eyes
As passion burns between us.
Like liquid love.
Our temperature rises to a state of oblivion
As Pleasure over whelming us both.
Our love sweet and pure
As a white dove
While we’re tangle as one,
Experiencing liquid love.
Wet and Slippery as can be. We hold on tight
As our love is being defined through the rest of the night.
We gasp for air only to find none there.
But the feeling of ecstasy is so great we really didn’t care
With out a moment to spare she reached, I reached
she moan, I groan
Chills run through our bodies, it’s getting so hot
We were loving that feeling and never wanted it to stop.
Taking love to its purest state of
liquid love.
She turned, I turned.
We’re were rhythmic in motion
As our love is being poured like warm soothing lotion.
We both cry out simultaneously
Holding each other tighter than ever before
while our bodies are shaking instantaneously
And begging for more.
50 years of fireworks exploded
While our eternal volcano’s erupt
Our feelings were way out of control
And our hormones ran amuck.
I can’t tell her hand from mine,
her heart from heart,
her thoughts became my thoughts.
Let’s stay together and
never part.
Let’s live in bliss as the angels above.
As we enjoy one another in liquid love.

Love By Imagination
Let me penetrate your
mind with words Of lingo.
There’s nothing
to see for darkness
overwhelms the night.
Let’s not give in to
the seductive feelings
Of lust, so we can let
our minds unite in
truth in light.
Intellectual foreplay
creates boundaries of
exploration. Without
touching or kissing
you’ll find a delicate
whisper of love within
your imagination.
Whispers in the dark
have meaning of more
than love. Commitment
is just one of things
I think of.
I want to make love
to you with poetic words
that make you climax from
what’s been Said.
Have you shiver from
every syllable spoken.
While you lie back in your
bed.
With our imagination we
Can journey to Spain.
Make love in different
Languages, while we
Swing from chandeliers.
Sip words of champagne.
Swallow lyric of screaming
Pleasure. Can you sustain?
Because there’s more as
we journey to the core
with succulent desires
as we baptize our souls
by fire in the heat of
verbal passion dripping
with flavor ever lasting.
Filling your inner core
while your body silently
screams for more.
Before we take flight
and leave the night to
bring in a new day.
We open our eyes and
Sanctify our thoughts
with a kiss as we part
ways.
We needed no explanation.
Because we only wanted to
Enjoy love by imagination.
